Psychobilly-Pop???? si en una esquina chocara Paramore con Nekromantix, seguro saldria algo como Kitty In A Casket.

Como resistirse a “Kreepsville 666”, “Decline”, “Best Before Doomsday” o ese semi-hit que es “Dancing With The Devil”???. Obvio que tiene todos los topicos repetitivos tipicos de estas bandas, que se zarpa en meloso en momentos y que los mas puristas del genero diran que es una mierda, pero debo decir que dentro de todo, la propuesta que proponen estos austriacos es mas que interesante….

Si hace mas 10 años atras, despues de escuchar por primera vez el “Washed Up...” de Catch 22, el Ska-core iba a tomar ribetes tan virulentos, seguro me le cagaba de la risa.

Pero el tiempo paso, Capdown paso a ser referencia obligada de muchos, surgieron grupos como Random Hand, Beat The Red Light o los Ghetto Blaster, que llevaron el sonido mas alla….

En este nuevo trabajo, no escatiman ni un poco esa polenta que vienen demostrando desde su debut autotitulado en el 2009, y con este tercer Ep, queda demostrado en canciones “Fall of a Civilization” o “Psychological Warfare” donde el crack rocksteady y sus referencias a los Choking Victim quedan mas que evidentes…

Filibuster es considerado para muchos, quien se deberia haber llevado toda la gloria por encima de muchas bandas mediocres salidas del seno de Long Beach.

A veces se llevaron la etiqueta de “StreetSteady”, lease por combinar mejor que nadie los sonidos de los desclasados de occidente (Ska, Rocksteady, Punk), con un saxo marcando el camino a lo largo de todo este “Deadly Hi-fi”, para desgranar la genial “Batty Rider”, dar catedra en “Backstreets”, esos 9 minutos de un hermoso cuelge en “Aargh St.”, y prenderse fuego en ese asesino Ska 2 Tone de “Sutter’s Fort”. 

La banda ya no existe mas, pero dejo esta joya de disco, que hacia bocha que no pasaba por este blog…

Y de yapa…aparece de invitado Joey Ramone en “Lying To Myself”..que sino es uno de los ultimos temas que grabo antes de fallecer, la pega en el palo… si algun dia llegara a hacer un top 25 de lo mejor que ha pasado por este bendito blog, denlo por seguro que entra…

Hay bandas que hoy en dia se le animan al Rap-Core????, mas alla que me parecen geniales, cada disco nuevo de Clawfinger, atrasa 10 años….

Por eso finales de los 90, principios del 2000, fue epoca propicia (mas alla de que el genero data de mas atras) para el explote de millones de bandas, y este fue el caso de los Capitol Eye, y sus mazazos como “Let’s Go”, “Valentin Style” o “Checkin Ya”!,  ”The Dice Doll” y sus deudas a los Sugar Ray o unos Suicidal Tendencies chicanos en “Hit ‘Em Up”. Otro de esos discos de larga data que pasaron por el blog, y como muchos otros que vamos a ir subiendo….
